Position: Hospitality Operation Technical Service Manager-Secondment Opportunity (6 months)-National Omani Hospitality Company (Dhiaffa)

Purpose
The Hospitality Operation Technical Service Manager is responsible for overseeing technical services and validating CapEx for all renovation, refurbishment, and new hospitality projects within Dhiaffa’s portfolio. This role ensures that technical and operational standards are met across all properties, and that CapEx budgets are thoroughly reviewed and validated. The manager plays a crucial role in area program validation for new projects, ensuring alignment between technical execution, operational needs, and financial planning.
 
 
Technical Services Support
  • Collaborate with Dhiaffa’s design and development teams to provide operational expertise during the planning and execution of hotel and restaurant renovation and refurbishment projects.
  • Ensure that all design and construction work adhere to hospitality operational needs, industry standards, and brand requirements.
  • Review and approve technical service plans for new projects, focusing on functionality, efficiency, and alignment with operational goals.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor project progress, identify operational challenges, and ensure that design plans meet functional and technical requirements. 
  • Capex Validation and Budget Oversight
  • Lead the validation and approval of Capex for all projects, including renovations, refurbishments, and new concepts, ensuring that technical aspects align with the financial plan.
  • Collaborate with the finance and development teams to review project budgets, ensuring that Capex allocations are realistic, justified, and align with Dhiaffa’s overall financial goals.
  • Conduct detailed technical reviews of each project to validate that
  • budgets are aligned with operational requirements and long-term sustainability.
  • Monitor Capex spending throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring
  • cost control and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Area Program Validation for New Projects
  • Evaluate and validate the area program for new projects, ensuring that the space allocation and design are optimal for both operational efficiency and guest experience.
  • Work with designers, architects, and technical teams to ensure that the area program supports functional requirements and
                enhances service delivery.
  • Ensure that area programs meet brand standards, operational needs, and local regulatory requirements while staying within budget.
Operational Efficiency
  • Analyze current hotel and restaurant operations to identify areas for improvement, recommending technical upgrades or modifications that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Work closely with property-level management teams to provide technical solutions that support optimal day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and implement technical service guidelines, manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and operations across all hospitality assets.
  • Manage the integration of technology and technical systems that streamline operations, enhance guest experience, and improve operational performance.
Project Management
  • Lead the technical service component of new hospitality projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and operational objectives are met.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and designers to ensure that technical services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are delivered on time and meet the highest quality standards.
  • Provide technical and operational support during pre-opening phases, ensuring that all systems are functioning, and that the property is ready for a smooth operational start.
  • Work closely with Dhiaffa’s procurement team to source materials and services that meet technical specifications and operational requirements.
Renovation & Refurbishment
  • Oversee the renovation and refurbishment projects of hotels and restaurants, ensuring that these are completed within budget and meet the company’s quality and operational standards.
  • Ensure that all refurbishments are executed with minimal disruption to ongoing operations, balancing operational needs with project schedules.
  • Liaise with contractors and project managers to ensure that renovations align with Dhiaffa’s brand standards and guest expectations.
Compliance & Sustainability
  • Ensure that all technical services and operations comply with local regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Implement sustainability practices across all hospitality operations, focusing on energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices, ensuring that Dhiaffa’s operations and projects remain compliant and competitive.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Hospitality Management, or a related
  • technical field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in hospitality technical services, operations
  • management, or project management, ideally within hotels or restaurants.
  • ? Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
  • and operational processes in the hospitality industry.
