Position: Business Continuity Specialist

Purpose

The Business Continuity Specialist is responsible for ensuring the organizations ability to continue critical operations during and after disruptive events. This includes developing, implementing, and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks, conducting risk-based assessments, and coordinating resilience planning with key stakeholders. The role is central to enhancing the organization’s preparedness, minimizing downtime, and protecting stakeholders’ interests during crises

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening OMRAN’s business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Line Manager to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of business continuity strategies, integrating them into the broader enterprise risk and resilience framework.
  • Develop and maintain the group-wide Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) aligned with ISO 22301 or relevant standards.
  • Facilitate the development and regular review of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) across all business units.
  • Lead Business Impact Analysis (BIA) exercises to identify critical processes, dependencies, and recovery priorities.
  • Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure the Disaster Recovery Plan supports continuity of systems and data.
  • Develop and maintain Crisis Management Plans and escalation protocols.
  • Participate in crisis simulations and post-incident reviews.
  • Design and conduct business continuity awareness and training programs for employees and leadership.
  • Plan and execute regular drills and simulation exercises (tabletop or live).
  • Document lessons learned and recommend improvements following each test or real event.
  • Maintain a repository of continuity plans, templates, and procedures.
  • Ensure business continuity strategies remain current and effective in the face of organizational or environmental changes.
  • Track regulatory, industry, and international standards related to resilience and integrate relevant practices.
  • Liaise with department heads, risk owners, and external agencies to ensure alignment of continuity strategies.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and certification efforts related to business continuity and resilience.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in enterprise risk management or a related role.
  • Experience leading BIA, BCP development, crisis simulation, and incident response activities.
  • Knowledge of business continuity software/tools and familiarity with regulatory expectations.
